Flushing HS Class of 1970 - 40 Year Reunion is on for June 12, 2010!
NEW THIS YEAR!!: Marking period 4 (Ending March 12, 2010) REPORT CARDS WILL NOT BE DISTRIBUTED TO STUDENTS.
Report cards will be available to parents on Open School Night (Thursday, March 18, 2010) or Open School Day (Friday, March 19, 2010).

Flushing High School Wresting Team became New York City Wrestling Champions on February 11, 2010 by defeating Martin Luther King HS 60 to 18. The team finished the season undefeated with a record of 14 and 0. Also, good luck to the team members going on to the New York State qualifying tournament. Great job team!
Project College Bound @ Flushing High School Takes the Headlines
The program, a two-year effort funded through a $2 million grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and matching funds from Deutsche Bank, was launched in fall 2009 in Flushing.
Flushing is Awarded a $200,000 Annual Grant over Two Years
Our school is a recipient of this grant. Each grant will range between $200,000 to $350,000 annually over two years.

If you are a student considering a career in the arts or entertainment industries, the New York State Summer School of the Arts (NYSSSA) is for you.
$66,000 REACH (Rewarding Achievement) Matching Grants Earned by Our Students and Teachers
REACH gives financial awards of $300 to $1,000 REACH Scholar Awards to students at participating high schools, for each AP exam score of 3, 4 or 5 that they earn, and provides students with free AP workshops and other resources to help them succeed.
Our School's Progress Report - We made the grade!
Schools are assigned letter grades based on their overall Progress Report score. Schools that get As and Bs are eligible for rewards.
Schools that get Ds and Fs, or 3 Cs in a row, face consequences, including change in school leadership or school closure.
"Peer Tutoring Across the Curriculum" Now Available for All Students
If you need help with writing in any subject area, please visit the English office period 5 or 6 (providing you do so only during a free/lunch period). Our student tutors can help you write for any subject, i.e. English, Science, Mathematics, Social Studies. Our student tutors have passed the English Regents with 95 or above, and are high achievers in their other subject areas as well.

Inclement Weather; Student Entrance Policy
In the event of inclement weather, the student entrance at Exit 15 will remain open periods 1 and 2. Students will be directed to the cafeteria and supervised by school aides and deans.
